Love's Labour's Lost by William Shakespeare
Actors' Theatre of Columbus | July 2023
For this modern re-telling of Shakespeare's lesser-known comedy, I spent months researching, editing and re-writing to create a 90-minute version of the script that merged characters, eliminated double-casting and updated language and themes to resonate with a modern audience.
One reviewer wrote, "The cohesion of the cast is a highlight of this Love’s Labour’s Lost; there are no weak links to speak of. The dazzling flexibility of the meter struck me several times throughout the piece. The cast highlights the way Shakespeare’s rhythms [...] have seeped into contemporary consciousness and informed every spoken/written work since [...] they also reinforce how natural that meter can sound when someone commits." — Richard Sanford for The Columbus Underground
